Alyssa Dinowitz is the Founder and Executive Director of Chemo Companions, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing love, compassion, understanding, and hope to patients undergoing cancer treatment.
Inspired by her mother, Marriann, and the experiences Alyssa witnessed during her treatment, Alyssa recognized a critical gap in emotional, practical, and holistic support for patients. What began as a deeply personal mission has grown into a compassionate community effort rooted in the belief that healing involves the mind, body, and spirit.
Alyssa is passionate about integrative health and education, expanding access to free yoga and wellness classes for patients, and creating supportive experiences that empower individuals and families during treatment. Under her leadership, Chemo Companions provides thoughtfully curated care packages and meaningful connections during a very vulnerable time.
This approach is deeply shaped by Alyssa’s own journey as a yoga teacher for more than 20 years, where she has shared mindfulness and movement as gentle tools for resilience and healing. Outside of her work, Alyssa finds joy in traveling, writing, fly fishing, fostering Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, perfecting her sourdough, and spending time with her family who continues to inspire her every day.
